Stephen Batchelor This Thursday

8pm – 10 pm
Harvard University Science Center, Hall D
One Oxford Street Cambridge, MA 02138
Interested in Buddhism or meditation but not religious?

In this rare free/open lecture, Stephen Batchelor will address whether, as Buddhism begins to take root in Western countries, it will continue to preserve its identity as a creedal religion or start to lose its religious character and start to evolve into a lay practice and Humanist way of life concerned primarily with responding to the suffering of this world in the here and now.

Batchelor, author of the bestselling Buddhism Without Beliefs, was a Buddhist monk for ten years in the Tibetan and Zen traditions. He is a translator and writer who teaches Zen meditation.
